One of the main aims of the class is to empower. Being taught real boxing skills as well as bringing together a diverse group of girls, everyone is encouraged to participate and excel with the support of the whole team.

Alison fosters a welcoming and fun environment where everyone is equal, no matter what their experience is. Two classes are run per week to ensure everyone has the opportunity to join in. Mondays at 3.30pm in Café 1759’s Community Room 7. Fridays at 3.15pm in Building 94 on Budds Lane. All boxing gloves and pads are provided, just a bottle of water to stay hydrated is necessary.

You’ll be taught proper guard stance and how to throw (and catch) punches safely. Defensive maneuvers like duck and weave, slip steps and effective counter punches. Varying difficulty combinations including jabs, uppercuts, crosses, hooks and body shots. There will also be various games played to keep the class engaged and active.
