Alison Berrisford is a highly qualified and experienced personal trainer with a deep passion for helping individuals achieve their fitness goals. With a science-based approach, she combines her expertise and tailored training programs to promote strength, agility, and overall well-being. Alison's commitment to her clients' success is evident in her professionalism, accountability, and trustworthiness. About Alison

I’ve always been into sport. As an active child, my father put me and my sisters into ballet at aged 4. At 6 years old, I tried Taekwondo, and everything fell into place. I remember having so much fun learning how to kick, adapting my coordination, my strength, and finding confidence. I grew up in a sporty and supportive family that nurtured a ‘try anything’ attitude.

At school my favourite classes were P.E. The pleated skirts and plimsolls didn’t put me off hanging from the climbing frames or running around the field playing hockey, rugby, and football. I tried my hand at athletics and went to the nationals a few times, but contact sports were where my passion lay.

As a teen I heard of a sport called ‘Octopush’. Underwater hockey sounded bizarre but intense and it came to the local swimming pool in Plymouth. After trying it out and becoming immediately hooked, I was there for every training session.

I became team captain and eventually trained and competed with the British Ladies team, an incredible group from the support staff, physios, nutritionists, performance coaches and the amazing athletes. This is where my true appreciation of supporting staff and performance coaching came in.

I reached Blackbelt in Taekwondo and branched out into Muay Thai kickboxing and Judo. I went to the European championships held in Germany year after year winning trophies and medals.

I eventually found myself moving to an area that didn’t offer my style of Taekwondo or any Judo classes. So, I found wrestling and Ninjitsu. Two very different arts which hold special places in my heart and to this day I still wrestle.

I also found myself watching American football. As a rugby player I loved the contact but made many excuses as to why rugby was far superior. After testing on a very cold and muddy open day for the Farnham knights, I came home and decided that I had to be involved. My rookie year I played for the Knights, in the women’s league and testing for the GB Ladies team. I put myself in the coaching courses and the referee courses so I could learn everything and help develop the women’s and the youth teams.


Currently, I hold many qualifications and coach many different athletes. Semi pro tennis players, rugby players, ice hockey players, ballet and dance artists, semi pro footballers, youth athletes, dressage riders, racing drivers, military and police…

My Passion

I have a passion for helping people develop their skills. I believe that whilst pure talent can get you so far, we all need to put in the work to excel and become the athletes we want to be. With expert, science based guidance, I work with every individual to build a strong base that can help resist injury and deliver the results for you to achieve your gold, your win, and your personal best.
